Leaving a gift in your will

John Perkins

"Having lived with a stammer all my life, I appreciate the importance of what BSA does, and I want that to continue after my death."

John Perkins, Why I am leaving a legacy to BSA

Legacies are vital in giving us the resources to change lives affected by stammering (also known as stuttering). Your gift can help ensure that our support continues to be available for future generations.

Your bequest, however small, will help our work to carry on. For larger bequests we could perpetuate your name in a project you supported.

Bequests to registered charities such as BSA do not attract Inheritance Tax. Our charity registration no. is 1089967.

You can decide what kind of bequest to make - discuss it with your solicitor if you are not sure. It could be:
-a share in your estate after ofter legacies and debts have been met (a residuary bequest);
-a specific sum of money;
-a particular item, e.g. a property, or a piece of jewellery; or
-a gift taking effect if other beneficiaries die before yourself.

If you would like more information on legacies, please contact Norbert Lieckfeldt on 020 8983 1003 or email mail@stammering.org.
