More ways to fundraise

Organise a local event

You could organise a coffee morning, or a car boot sale for example.

-A hospital outpatients department held a second-hand book sale in their department. They sent BSA £100 donated by patients and staff.

-A playgroup held a coffee morning. It decided it wanted to donate the money raised to BSA, "as we think your work is wonderful and it has helped so many children".

-A sixth-former who stammers organised a 'Hammer the Stammer' concert which raised over £200 for BSA.

More ideas and examples

A BSA supermarket bagpack in Leeds.-Burnley Pendle & Rossendale support group raised £300 for BSA through producing and selling a calendar.

-Do you sell on ebay? You can donate part of your sale proceeds to BSA - go to ebay's ebayforcharity pages.

-Having completed 100 hours of voluntary work an employee was eligible to nominate a charity to receive £250 from his employer. He chose BSA - his wife is a specialist speech and language therapist who appreciated the work done by the association.

-Therapists and clients and East Lancashire PCT raised money through producing and selling Christmas cards drawn by children who stammer, and having a BIG cake bake at a staff meeting

-We received a cheque from therapists at a children's speech and language therapy department, who had decided to make donations instead of sending Christmas cards.

-Gifts in memoriam, in place of flowers at a funeral. Justgiving has an option to create a fundraising web page to allow friends and relatives to donate easily online.

Birthdays and other special occasions

-At a wedding, the couple requested that half the collection be given to BSA.
