Supporting BSA
How is my money used?

Here are just some things that your donations enable us to do.

Ed Balls and John Bercow
BSA was one of only five charities called to serve on the advisory panel of the Bercow Review on services for children. Pictured: Children's Secretary Ed Balls with John Bercow MP in background.

-Information and Support Service
Running our excellent Information and Support Service, the first point of contact for anyone who is concerned about stammering. Each year this service supports thousands of people who stammer, parents of children who stammer, and others. We provide a listening ear, unbiased information and support, and details of speech therapy services in the enquirer's local area.

-BSA website
This is 'the' UK website for stammering, and also a major resource internationally. It includes not only information and news, but also hundreds of articles from our magazine Speaking Out.

-Pre-school children: preventing a lifetime of stammering
Working towards local health services that provide pre-school children who stammer with the help they need when they need it, so that they do not have to grow up with a stammer.

-School-age children
Providing resources to train teachers in the simple strategies they can use to support young people who stammer; guidance for parents to help ensure their child's needs are met; as well as guidance for early years workers.

-Politicians and government
Educating politicians, and others in authority, about the benefits of giving speech a higher priority, so as to help people who stammer grow up more able to achieve their ambitions, make more of their work and social lives, and contribute more to the economy.

-Public awareness
Raising public awareness of stammering.
