Electronic fluency devices - main page
These are devices which do not claim to use DAF or FAF.
Fluency Master (external link) Not advertised as a DAF/FAF device, it is claimed to foster "better hearing of the natural vocal tone associated with speaking". There is some comment on the Stuttering Homepage website in: Electronic Devices and Stuttering Treatment (external link), and Auditory Sidetone and the Management of Stuttering: From Wollensak to SpeechEasy (external link) by Richard Merson. Edinburgh masker No longer manufactured. However, in Summer 2009 VoiceAmp (www.VoiceAmp.net) released software designed to emulate the Edinburgh Masker on their device. The masker is an electronic aid to alleviating stammering. It generates a noise which prevents the wearer from hearing the sound of his or her own voice. It is no longer made, and so is now only available second-hand. However an AAF device (above) may sometimes have the option to produce masking sound. - - BSA is interested in acquiring working Edinburgh maskers. - Edinburgh Masker repair service, in United States (link to Stuttering Homepage website).
