Electronic fluency devices - non-AAF devices

arrow Electronic fluency devices - main page

These are devices which do not claim to use DAF or FAF.

Fluency Master (external link)
Not advertised as a DAF/FAF device, it is claimed to foster "better hearing of the natural vocal tone associated with speaking".
There is some comment on the Stuttering Homepage website in:
Electronic Devices and Stuttering Treatment (external link), and
Auditory Sidetone and the Management of Stuttering: From Wollensak to SpeechEasy (external link) by Richard Merson
.

Edinburgh masker
No longer manufactured. However, in Summer 2009 VoiceAmp (
www.VoiceAmp.net) released software designed to emulate the Edinburgh Masker on their device.
The masker is an electronic aid to alleviating stammering. It generates a noise which prevents the wearer from hearing the sound of his or her own voice. It is no longer made, and so is now only available second-hand. However an AAF device (above) may sometimes have the option to produce masking sound. -
- BSA is interested in acquiring working Edinburgh maskers.
- Edinburgh Masker repair service, in United States (link to Stuttering Homepage website).
