We are delighted that BBC Radio 4 is broadcasting an appeal on behalf of the British Stammering Association. Through the appeal we aim to raise funds which will enable us to continue providing our valued and much appreciated services, to all whose lives are affected by stammering in the UK.

We would like to thank David Mitchell, author of award winning novels Black Swan Green and Cloud Atlas, who is presenting our appeal. The main protagonist in Black Swan Green, 13 year-old Jason Taylor, is a person who stammers and David Mitchell portrays his school experiences that anyone, stammerer or non-stammerer, can identify with.

His personal experience of stammering has encouraged him to raise awareness of a condition that affects 750,000 people in the UK.

This appeal is not only a fantastic opportunity to raise funds, but also to increase awareness of our charity and reach out to those who require our help.
