Research notices - volunteers wanted
#Participants wanted for stammering and social anxiety research study
NHS Norfolk and the University of East Anglia (UEA) are trying to develop a new treatment for social anxiety in people who stammer, and are looking for participants.
Participants wanted for research into stammering and musical rythmn
Nia Cason is looking for participants to take part in her PhD research study, preferably people based in London or Edinburgh.
Request for women aged 18 to 35
Are you a woman aged 18 to 35? Do you have a Standard Southern English Accent (ie London or Home Counties accent). 3 students at City University London are looking for research volunteers.
Participants wanted for research into stammering and Skype
Declan Whelan at the Institute of Art, Design and Technology, Dun Laoghaire, Dublin is looking for adults who stammer to take part in his research project on the use of Skype as a possible therapeutic aid for stammering.
Web based anxiety treatment for adults who stutter
Adults who stammer can sign up to use the Australian Stuttering Research Centre's web-based Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) program on speech-related anxiety, for a research project investigating the effect of the program.
Experiences of women who stammer
Participants are needed for a research project to help improve understanding of the experiences of women who stammer.
Cluttering brain research study
Dr David Ward at Reading University is interested to hear from anyone who has symptoms of cluttering, perhaps alongside stammering.
People in Birmingham area wanted for research study
Study takes no longer than 2 hours, and participants can be reimbursed for their time (around £15). In some cases the University can contribute towards travel expenses.
#New sibling or other event when your stammering started?
Patricia Sims, an SLT, is asking people to complete a short web form to help test the hypothesis that those who stammer are likely to have had some change in the home at the time of onset of stammering (the early repetitions).
