Wanted: case studies for new police training project

My name is Rezina Ahmed. I am an independent disability advisor raising awareness and training on disability at the Metropolitan Police, New Scotland Yard, working on a new disability training project.

People who stammer can experience difficulties in communicating with the police where there is a fear of speaking to authority, keeping eye contact or having to speak at the police station where other people might be listening. These secondary characteristics as well as stammering itself is often misinterpreted negatively by the police.

If you have experienced any difficulties with the police in relation to your stammer, if you have any suggestions on how you would like the police to respond, or issues you would like to raise, then please email me at: rezinaahmed@hotmail.com
Confidentiality will be respected. No names or any other details will be mentioned.
