People in Birmingham area wanted for research study
The School of Psychology at The University of Birmingham are conducting some research into the causes of stammering and are in desperate need of participants who stammer to take part. The research has gained ethics approval, and is funded by the Nuffield Foundation under the Enhancement of Social Wellbeing category.
Participants must have a stammer, be native English language speakers and be aged between 16-40. The study involves a series of simple silent reading tasks during which the participants' eye movements are recorded.
The study takes no longer than 2 hours and we can reimburse participants for their time (around £15). In some cases we can contribute towards travel expenses.
Please contact me at cxc420@bham.ac.uk if you are interested, or forward this message to anyone who may be suitable.
Thank you,
Chloé Corcoran
October 2010 (Renewed September 2011: the research is ongoing and will be for the foreseeable future. Further participants still wanted.)
