Research notice
Parents who stammer needed to help with UCL research

We are looking for families with young children where one or both parents stammer (or used to stammer) to help with their research.

Stammering is known to run in families and recent research has indicated that there is a genetic component. If this is the case it would put children with parents who stammer at risk of stammering and we would like to monitor their development (preferably from the pre-language stage). This will be a long term study.

If you would like to take part (or if you know any families that might like to help) please contact Dr Steve Davis at The Speech Research Team, University College London by email stephen.davis@ucl.ac.uk or telephone 020 7679 5399.

Steve Davis, UCL, October 2007
