Frank Geoghegan-Quinn served as inaugural Convenor of BSA Scotland for the year from October 2004 - 2005, during which time he brought his unique vision and a wealth of relevant experience to the task. Frank was generous with his time and offered tangible support to BSA Scotland when it was most needed.
Frank chaired meetings (very effectively); was an excellent spokesman (despite hating the role); turned a deft hand to writing letters, memorable editorials for 'Blether' and envelope stuffing; served as political advisor, counsellor and muse; and even rolled up his shirt sleeves to sugar soap the old paintwork at the new office!
On becoming our first Convenor, his stated priority was to instigate an electoral process for future Scottish Committees. Frank led the inaugural Scottish Steering Committee through discussions that culminated in smooth, efficient elections over the summer of 2005 and the formation of the new BSA Scotland Committee. Frank decided not to stand for Committee this year due to personal commitments, however, he hopes to maintain an active interest in BSA Scotland in other ways.
Many thanks for all your hard work, Frank!
