Held in the beautiful grounds of Stirling University in Scotland, many people at the 2004 conference saw their dreams take flight and new horizons appear.

"The weekend was simply magical for me! I'm so glad I went and was part of it. I bought back with me an experience not to forget, ever. Quoting Lee Reeves' words "I've come home and I'm a different person" because I have shared other people's experiences. Their experience made my own experience worthwhile and so very positive!"
Nara
At the final session on Sunday afternoon Nara sang a beautiful rendition of this song:
'I wish I could show all the love in my heart
Remove all the things that keep us apart
I wish I could say all the things I wish to say
Say them loud, say them clear, for the whole world to hear' |

BSA Conference 2004
Freedom to Speak: BSA conference 2004
The final session of the conference is a good place for participants to say what it has meant to them. Here are the thoughts and feelings of a few people who were there.
"One of the great things about the BSA conference is that it brings people together. There is a tendency to hide it if you can, but that is fatal. Self-acceptance is a wonderful thing"
Graeme
"Realising that I didn't have to wait until my stammering went away before I did what I wanted to was a huge step forward. At this conference I gained a fantastic insight into where I want to develop during the next couple of months"
Howard
"I generally come away from BSA conferences with a higher perception of myself and feeling more confident"
John
"Getting good information is one thing, but it's the need to really apply it that I've taken from this conference"
Terry
"Put all your heart into it, don't overanalyse it, and go for it. Make the changes you want to"
Graham
"What touched me was the courage of people in putting themselves out and speaking out"
Eduardo
"I feel that I have discovered myself and gained a lot of inspiration. I want to get more involved with BSA and create a website to share people's successes"
Tanveer
"There was a lot of passion and empathy at the conference. I've had a really good time"
Ian
"We need to do what we want with our lives and not let our stammer control our lives. It's about confidence"
Jaik
