Mindfulness Meditation CD

Available from BSA £7.99 (incl p&p in UK)
Renee Byrne Reg. MRCSLT

Mindfulness meditation CD.Do you sometimes feel tense and anxious? Do you think ahead to possible problems or back to previous difficulties? Do you feel rushed? Do you lack concentration? If you have answered "Yes" to two or more of these questions - read on:

Why a CD?
As a specialist speech & language therapist, I have been working with people who stammer for many years and have found that many clients complain of the above feelings. The CD was made for these clients and is now available to everyone.

What is meditation?
It is a method by which we learn stillness and concentration and, in this way, we calm the mind as well as releasing tension in the body.

How can mindfulness meditation (MM) help you?
The moment(s) before, during and after a stammer can be so traumatic that appropriate action is difficult. MM helps us to view things more dispassionately, and teaches us to stay in the present moment rather than project forward to possible future difficulties or back to previous problems.

Is MM difficult?
The actual technique is very simple, but learning to sit still, to focus and to stay in the present moment involves the acquisition of a new skill, and that requires dedication and staying power. Many will agree that the results are worth the time invested. The CD has an introduction and three meditation tracks of varying lengths. We hope you will find it helpful as an adjunct to your speech work.
