City Lit is a college of adult education near Covent Garden, central London, that has provided a service for people who stammer for over 45 years.
Intensive courses, workshops and evening classes are offered throughout term-time. Fees are low as they are government subsidised, although UK residency rules apply. It is also possible to book a free advisory session with a speech and language therapist.
In 2008 Speech therapy at City Lit was awarded the Queen's Anniversary Prize in recognition of its excellent work in adult stammering therapy.
