Election Results BSA General Committee 2018

| 16.10.2018

The results are now in – we are thrilled to welcome Naheem Bashir and Abed Ahmed as new Trustees of the General Committee.

Rob Pinn’s three year term as Trustee to the Board came to an end, and attendees at last Saturday's AGM joined Tim Fell in thanking Rob for his valuable contributions over the years.

Naheem is a neuroscientist currently completing a PhD exploring the brains of people who stammer, and co-founded the London Stammering Support Group. Abed is a maths teacher and public speaker who runs stammering support sessions at his school, where he served as a staff governor. You can read more about him here

This was one of the most hard fought elections, and the quality of the candidates this year was excellent. See below for the full breakdown of results.

The number of members voting actually changed very little from the 2017 election, with proportionally just 0.6% more members voting. However, the number of voters rose, as our membership has increased, with just under 700 more members (see below). The most notable difference is the percentile decline in those taking part in the postal vote, as opposed to online voting, which rose marginally.
