To round off a great year, we're pleased to announce that we have appointed a new Communications Director, Kate Dickson.
Starting in January, Kate will be responsible for all external and internal communications for the BSA. She'll also lead the rollout of our new awareness campaign, Stamma, which is set to launch in early 2019 (supporters can expect an email about that shortly).
Kate is a seasoned communications professional with over 15 years’ experience working across the private, public and not for profit sectors. She joins us from Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN), where she worked as Communications Director for the kids' entertainment brands Nickelodeon UK and Channel 5’s Milkshake!
“It is a truly exciting time for The British Stammering Association and I’m honoured to be joining the team. Stammering is a part of my life so I understand the impact it can have and the many misconceptions people hold about the condition. I cannot wait to start working with the BSA and its members to unveil Stamma and change the way the world sees stammering.”
BSA CEO Jane Powell added: “The British Stammering association is embarking upon an ambitious 5-year plan and I think Kate is just the person to elevate our profile and shine a spotlight on stammering. Her personal experience with stammering as well as her impressive career make Kate a perfect fit for the role of Communications Director. This appointment makes our team complete and I’m excited for the initiatives and campaigns that lie ahead.”
